Event Description:
On Sunday October 5th, 2025, the Friends of the 261 will be hosting its Semi-Annual Fall color
trips on the Twin Cities and Western Railroad (TCW). A harvest theme has been selected for this
year’s trips to coincide with the season, and we have selected Glencoe Minnesota as our layover
destination to provide passengers opportunities to shop and eat at local businesses during our
stop. To make this event a success, the Friends have partnered with the Glencoe Area Chamber
of Commerce to communicate with business and vendors to provide the best possible experience
for passengers and promote local Glencoe businesses. The Chamber of Commerce is in the
process of scheduling an additional farmers market for October 5th, the day the train is in town.
What time will the train be in Glencoe?
The train will arrive in Glencoe at Noon and depart at 2:00pm Passengers will be encouraged to
explore and shop in Glencoe during this time. A photo run-by will be held at 1:30pm to allow
passengers photo opportunities before re-boarding the train.
Where in Glencoe will the event be held?
12th street between Hennepin Ave and Ives Ave will be closed between 8:00am and 5:00pm on
the 5th to allow for set up and tear down of the event.
How Many People will be dropped off in Glencoe?
Approximately 300-350 people. 200 first Class passengers will be provided meals from our
catered food truck, but the approximately 100 coach passengers are responsible for their own
lunch.
