Job Description
Glencoe Light and Power Commission is a municipal electric utility currently providing electric service for approximately 2750 customers.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Office Manager/Controller. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong administrative skills and financial experience to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of our office while overseeing financial processes and procedures.
Office Management: Oversee and assist in the daily customer service activities. Manage office supplies inventory and vendor relationships. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications.
Financial Management: Supervise all accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and cash control Monitor and track employee benefits. Prepare and analyze financial reports. Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions. Prepare information for and assist with the annual independent audit.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to executive team members as needed. Schedule and track the company random drug/alcohol testing program. Manage HR-related tasks such as onboarding new employees and maintaining employee records.
Qualifications: Preferred candidate will have a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proven experience in office management and/or financial management roles. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
